Overview
RegisterOur summer courses offer immersive workshops in Waldorf arts, pedagogy, and practical skills, designed to inspire and renew your educational path.
About the Summer Courses
Each summer, the Alkion Center offers one or two Course Weeks between mid-June and early July, with exact dates announced by February. These immersive weeks are ideal for personal renewal, professional development, and exploring artistic expression.
For students pursuing a Waldorf Teacher or Early Childhood Specialization Certificate, one Course Week is included in the year’s tuition, and three are required for certification. A single Course Week is also mandatory for the one-year Foundation Studies Certificate.
While these courses are a key part of the certification path, they’re open to everyone—whether you’re joining for the full week or selecting individual classes. It’s a wonderful way to experience all the Alkion Center has to offer!
Tuition
Students may sign up for the full week, or take courses individually and pay an hourly rate.
Summer Courses Highlight: Clay Sculpture
This workshop focuses primarily on sculpting the human head, with Early Childhood students having the option to model an infant’s or child’s head instead. The flexible studio environment welcomes alternative projects as well.
The human head represents the meeting point of spiritual, emotional, and anatomical elements. Participants will use the coiling technique to build hollow forms that can be shaped from both inside and outside, working from the overall structure to the finer details. The workshop culminates with adding expressive finishing touches.
This class welcomes all skill levels, including complete beginners.

The give and take between students and faculty is energizing, and the teachers are so generous with their knowledge.
