To follow the inner call to become a Waldorf teacher is a spiritual endeavor. Alkion guided me on the first steps of that journey. It was humbling to soak in the wisdom and depth of experience of the teachers who taught in the course. Every Saturday felt like a meeting with myself. I especially relished how the morning intellectual studies were interwoven with the arts later in the day – Waldorf pedagogy in action.

The teachers, the facilities and the content of the teacher training program at Alkion are all superb. The wisdom offered by the program leaders and numerous guest lecturers provided me with rich knowledge, hands on experience of the Waldorf curriculum, and the depth of study needed for someone new to anthroposophy, to go forth into the world as a Waldorf teacher.

The Alkion Center faculty has perfected a form of teaching that embodies the essence of Waldorf Pedagogy and Rudolf Steiner’s work. The essential strength of the program is enlivened by creativity and collegial inspiration. My experience with Alkion has been a centerpiece for my life, both as a teacher and as an anthroposophist.

Since my undergraduate years in college I knew I wanted to complete a Waldorf Teacher Training. I can’t imagine a better and more inspiring place to have completed my Waldorf Early Childhood teacher education. I was continuously amazed at the dedication and knowledge my teachers shared and inspired within my cohort and me over two years of training. It has changed my life forever in all the best ways.
